INTRODUCTION

As the country steps into millennium, it becomes more confident and strongly undertakes development in chasing wealth and prosperity. Aviation industries are giving quite a share in that contribution. A view of a passing aircraft souring in Malaysia’s blue skies nowadays is a common image. Airports are crowded with activities. Business becoming easier, suddenly distance was an issue in the past.

Yet, every story always starts with once upon a time. In the early 1900, the idea of flight is always a crowd gatherer. Kitty Hawk 1905, history was born when the Wright Brothers took off from the ground and achieved powered flight. Somehow six years after the event, Malayan has been exposed to the technology. In 1911, a Dutchman came to Malaya doing a road tour with his aircraft, Antoinette Monoplane. He flew it several laps and landed. After that monumental day, Malayan has grown an interest in aviation and Malaya has never been the same again.

Over the years we can see how this maritime country has change, absorbing and digesting the idea of flight. A lot of hard work, innovation and determination have been poured in this area. The result has turn Malaysia’s landscape toward practical aviation country.

Today, we are blessed because Malaysia is going to take another monumental step in aviation. Malaysian will be celebrating her 100 years of flight next year. Those great 100 years in making will be our nation finesse and stepping stone for concurring greatness.
